Garden Oaks is located in northwest Houston west of Yale, N Shepherd Streets, North of Highway 610, 41st Street, east of Ella Blvd., Brinkman Street, and south of Chamboard, and the Railroad tracks.  The neighborhood area was established in 1937 by Edward L. Crain.   The neighborhood schools are located in the Houston Independent School District.
