Riverstone is going strong after 10 years of development. The Fort Bend community has posted record-breaking sales this year, with 2011 sales of new homes increasing 35 percent over last year.

Riverstone is located just southwest of Houston in the heart of thriving Fort Bend County.  Riverstone is located just miles from the upscale Galleria area and easily accessible to all major employment corridors.  Riverstone’s main entrance is located on Highway 6, approximately three miles south of US-59.

“This year’s sales were fueled by a surge of activity this summer” said Tom Wilcox, general manager of Riverstone. ‘Summer sales rose 155 percent as buyers took advantage of historically low interest rates and found Riverstone to be the community they desire.’

Metrostudy rated Riverstone 16th in its list of top-selling U.S. master-planned communities this year, the development’s first time on the national list.  Riverstone has consistently been among the top 10 master-planned communities in Houston.

A project of The Johnson Development Corp., Riverstone opened in 2001 and recorded its first sale in September that year.  Now, a decade later, builders have started more than 1,760 homes and closed more than 1,640. More than 5,000 residents now call Riverstone home.

Riverstone offers homes from the $210,000s to the millions from national and regional builders: Ashton Woods, Coventry, Darling Homes, David Weekley, Highland, The Manors by Westport (townhomes and patio homes), Mentage Homes, Newmark, Partners in Building, Perry, Toll Brothers, Trendmaker and Westin Homes.

Custom builders include Christopher Sims Custom Homes, Lespreance Construction, Peterson Homebuilders, Sterling Classic Homes and Westport. Builders have more than 20 homes available for move-in.

Riverstone is on Texas 6, three miles south of U.S. 59, and offers access to several major thoroughfares, including the Fort Bend Parkway. Dining and shopping choices are within proximity, including First Colony’s Town Center.

SCHOOLS

Riverstone is served by the prestigious Fort Bend Independent School District, the seventh largest school district in the state of Texas. For the 2010-2011 school year, Riverstone is served by Austin Parkway, Commonwealth, Schiff and Settlers Way elementary schools; Bathes, First Colony and Fort Settlement middle schools and Clements and Elkins high schools. Current plans include the addition of more FBISD schools within the community.
